 В Неделю 18-ю по Пятидесятнице, в день памяти Дионисия Ареопагита, еп. Афинского в храме, как всегда в воскресный день, было много молящихся. У престола — «служители Христовы, и домостроители тайн Божиих» (1Кор. 4:1), священники — Игорь Щировский и Артемий Кузнецов, диакон Максим Вахненко. Слаженно пел молодёжный хор под управлением матушки Елены Абрамовой.

  Когда святой апостол Павел проповедовал в афинском ареопаге (Деян. 17, 16 — 34), Дионисий принял это спасительное благовестие и стал христианином. В течение трех лет Дионисий был сподвижником святого апостола Павла в проповеди Слова Божия. Впоследствии апостол Павел поставил его епископом города Афин. В 57 году святой Дионисий присутствовал при погребении Пресвятой Богородицы.

Большое значение для Православной Церкви имеют творения святого Дионисия Ареопагита. До нашего времени из них сохранились четыре книги: «О Небесной иерархии», «О церковной иерархии», «О Именах Божиих», «О мистическом богословии», а также десять посланий к разным лицам.

Комментарии к трудам Дионисия написал Марк Исповедник. Интересно, что классическое произведение Данте «Божественная комедия»  было навеяно автору творениями Дионисия Ареопагита.
