С середины прошлого века на моём сознании, как гири, висят «гениальные» идеи о бесконечности материи в обе стороны и её вечности. Получалось, что Бог как бы и ни при чём. И уже сто раз всё было переосмыслено, но весь яд ещё не вытек до конца, — это ж как надо было душу-то отравить! И сколь приятно и целительно на этом фоне читать о современном научном осмыслении мира, и что, оказывается, давно уже нет особых противоречий между астрофизикой и Моисеем, — во что так всегда верилось…

Комментарии к Шестодневу писали такие великие люди, и их было столько… Казалось бы, что ещё тут можно добавить? Ан можно, и очень даже. Вспоминается чья-то светлая мысль, что каждому поколению надо всё рассказывать сызнова и современным языком. Книжка «Вселенная, космос, жизнь» — с пол-Библии толщиной, и это всё только про одну её главу! Как можно столько прочитать, уж не говорю про написать?! Если к этому добавить, что с книжками вообще покончено и осталась только Одна, то перспектив — никаких. Казалось. И вот, начав из уважения к умирающему другу, пришёл к тому, что каждый день тянет почитать главу-другую и восстановить в душе открытый космос. Тем более, что написано всё простым и доходчивым языком — как будто лично для меня, с милосердным учётом моего ограниченного развития…

Так они и лежат у меня возле подушки весь год: Евангелие и работа нашего дорогого — Царство ему Небесное! — о. Леонида.
